What's in Me!?!
"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the
world" - 1 John 4:4
There comes a time in your walk with God where, just like any other
long-term relationship, the fire begins to die and the zeal starts
fading. I entered this period not too long ago in my life and decided
it was time for a second honeymoon, a chance for uninterrupted
intimacy with God and a chance for us to renew our (really my)
vows. Upon setting out for this trip, God brought this scripture to
my head. "Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world"
(1 John 4:4) and thus establishing the purpose of my trip, to realize
what I have living on the inside of me.
There is the pregnant woman who knows she is pregnant and tells
everyone but she waits until the baby is born and she is holding
him/her to actually connect with her child. Then there is the
pregnant woman who makes the baby the enter of her life. Her
baby dictates the things she eats, when she sleep;s, where she
goes, etc. She spends countless hours talking to the baby and
learns his/her personality based on their movements. God said
when it comes to his Spirit living on the inside of us we ought to be
the latter woman who takes the time to connect and learn what she
has on the inside. Many of us are not walking in our full potential
because we do note understand and fail to tap into th power within
us. You can not utilize what you do not understand.
My challenge to yo is to take time to understand, connect and utilize
the power that is inside of you. Do not be just a Christian by title,
waiting to get to heaven to see God! Walk in His presence down
here, reap the benefits of Christianity and sanctification on Earth.
The power that created the universe and raised Jesus from the
dead lives on the very inside of us! If we truly understood that and
used that power, we would be UNSTOPPABLE! We must know
what we have living on the inside of us!
